This rear tail light lens gasket set is specifically designed and manufactured for 1963–1982 Jeep Full Size models and select 1983 models.
Our tail light gaskets are made from a premium foam and rubber blend that matches the factory original in fit and function. Proudly made in the USA, these gaskets are produced exclusively for Team Grand Wagoneer.
Jeep discontinued these factory gaskets over 10 years ago. Team Grand Wagoneer has stepped in to provide a high-quality replacement to keep your tail lamps properly sealed and protected.
These gaskets fit tail light lens part numbers J5459551 and J5459552. We currently offer tail light lens J5459552 on our website; however, the driver-side rear lens J5459551 is no longer available anywhere, making proper gasket replacement even more important.
Designed to fit both the driver and passenger rear tail light lenses, this gasket installs directly into the groove of the lens for a tight, correct seal—just like the original.
Over time, original gaskets dry out, crack, and shrink, allowing moisture and water to enter the lamp housing. A leaking gasket can cause dirt buildup inside the lens, poor light output, corroded bulb sockets, burned-out bulbs, and even complete light failure.
Replacing worn gaskets helps ensure a proper seal, extends bulb life, prevents socket corrosion, and keeps your tail lights clean and looking newer.
We recommend replacing these gaskets the next time you change a tail light bulb. Most original seals on these Jeeps are 10–50 years old and are well past their service life.

Good product
This gasket is nearly perfect. Relatively inexpensive, good fit, easy application. It is exactly what I needed and has resolved my leaky lens blowing bulbs in the rain. The only reason I am not giving this item a 5 star review, however, is because after I opened the packaging and prepared to install the gasket, I discovered there was no adhesive backing. This wasn't a big deal, but I did have to go to the hardware store and pick up some mild spray adhesive so that the gasket would stay in place inside the enclosure. Therefore, 4 stars. Nearly perfect. A peel-off sticker-style application would get 5.

Works Perfect
Ordered these for a 1965 Jeep Waggoneer and they fit perfectly. I used a small bead of weatherstripping adhesive to put them on. Be careful not to stretch them when you install them. The 4 screw hole cut outs lined up perfectly with the screw holes and the lens cover fit right back on with no issues.
