This Is A Direct Replacement Style Magnetic Oil Drain Plug With Seal
The Magnetic Oil Drain Plug Is Correct For & For The Oil Pan On All Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Full Size Wagoneers, Cherokees , Cherokee Chiefs, Jeep J10 Pick Up, Jeep J20 Pick Up Trucks With Both The V8-360/401 Engines & The 4.2 Liter Engine From 1974-1991.
Over Time The Threads On Your Oil Pan Can Easily Be Cross-Threaded When Installing Especially If A Mechanic Is In A Hurry & They Would Not Even Notice Or Possibly Not Even Mention It.
As Long As The Oil Pan Has Not Been Stripped Previously & A Larger Self Tapping Plug Was Added This Oil Drain Plug Will Fit.
The Size Is The Original 1/2"-20 Thread Pitch.
The Great Thing About This Magnetic Drain Plug Is That If Your Oil Pan Has Not Been Removed For A While, It May Have Small Metal Particles From Normal Wear & Tear That Normally Would Not Be Caught And Help Prevent That Material From Circulating.
After The First New Oil Change With This Plug You Will Be Able To See If That Happens Or If The Pan Needs To Be Removed & Cleaned Out.
It Makes For Easier Diagnosis Of Whether The Pan Needs Cleaning Out Or If Sludge Is Building Up.
Please Note To Make Sure Your Oil Pan Threads Are Not Damaged Because If They Are You Will Require A New Pan Or Larger Oversized Bolt One Time.
That Would Require A New Oil Pan Or A Self Tapping Screw For One More Time Use Until You Replace The Oil Pan.
We Always Recommend Replacing Your Oil Drain Plug Every 3-4 Oil Changes To Prevent Any Potential Stripping Threads Of The Oil Pan & Or Plug.
