In Other Terms This Lower Vent Screw Helps In Cooling The Rear Axle & Helping The Fluid From Overheating & Or Even Bubbling If It Gets Too Hot By Allowing Air To Vent The Differential As The Gears Are Turning With The Rotation Of The Wheels.
When Should This Vent Be Replaced? Anytime The Vent Itself Becomes Clogged. Check Your Vent Hose With Plastic Breather Vent First But If This Piece Becomes Restricted, The Hose & Vent Will Not Work At All.

Thread size was larger than the brake line and the axle housing hole. Took a chance to see if it would work on a 1974 J10, Product was a good product.
